Help for Small Businesses

I am committed to creating an economic environment that grows jobs, strengthens the foundation for future economic growth, and reduces unemployment.

I want to see the “Made in America” label more often. To keep manufacturing at home, we need to support small and medium sized businesses. My goal is to help small and medium sized businesses export their products – not their jobs – overseas.

My office has established an Export Assistance program that will connect local small manufacturers with the people and resources they need to export their goods and create jobs. About one in three jobs in Washington state are tied to foreign exports, and the pay for these jobs is about 46 percent more than the overall state average. As your representative in Congress, I am committed to ensuring that government is doing what it can to help our small businesses expand and prosper.

To revitalize the “Made in America” label, we must also invest more in infrastructure projects like building and repairing our roads, bridges and highways to create jobs. To that end, I am fighting for a new six-year surface transportation bill to invest in the repair of our nation’s roads, bridges and public transit to create or sustain up to 6 million jobs, and bring up to $5 billion to Washington state. Investing in infrastructure will create construction jobs and foster trade.

I am interested in learning about your small business. Please call or email my office to share your story or if you are in need of assistance.
