Rep. Rick Larsen (WA-02) voted today for legislation to ensure LGBTQ+ Americans are guaranteed full protections under the law.

“It is unacceptable that the LGBTQ+ community still faces discrimination based on sexual orientation or gender identity in housing, education and employment,” said Larsen. “I support equality for all Americans and I have had the opportunity to discuss the importance of the Equality Act with the Whatcom and Skagit Chapters of Parents, Families, and Friends of Lesbians and Gays (PFLAG). I stand with the LGBTQ+ community to say it is time for Congress to act.”

The Equality Act extends anti-discrimination protections to LGBTQ+ Americans for employment, education, access to credit, jury service, federal funding, housing and public accommodations.
