Internship Opportunities
I accept interns for work in my offices in Everett and Washington, D.C. An internship in my office provides students with a valuable hands-on opportunity to learn about the legislative process, as well as the operations of a Congressional office.
Service Academy Nominations
Members of Congress are authorized by law to nominate candidates for appointment to four U.S. service academies: the U.S. Military Academy (USMA); U.S. Naval Academy (USNA); U.S. Air Force Academy (USAFA); and U.S. Merchant Marine Academy (USMMA). Although it does not guarantee admission, a service academy nomination is a formal recommendation that allows a candidate to compete for an appointment.

Congressional Art Competition
Each spring, the U.S. House of Representatives holds a nationwide high school visual art competition to recognize and encourage artistic talent in the nation and in each congressional district. Information is available to students to learn more about the annual Congressional Art Competition and how to submit entries.
Congressional App Challenge
Each Fall my office accepts entries for the Congressional App Challenge, the official student STEM competition for the U.S. House of Representatives. The Congressional App Challenge is a nationwide competition hosted by Members of Congress designed to inspire middle and high school students to explore STEM fields. Information is available to students to learn more about the annual Congressional App Challenge and how to submit entries.
