Larsen Votes Against Repeal of Health Care Law
Washington, DC,
January 19, 2011
Today, U.S. Representative Rick Larsen (WA-02) released the following statement after voting against repeal of the new health care law. “Repealing the new health care law means repealing patients’ rights and ballooning our deficit by $230 billion by 2021, according to the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office. I voted against this costly repeal to protect affordable health coverage for hardworking families, small businesses and seniors in Northwest Washington. “The American people want the new Congress to focus on getting the economy to recover and helping people find jobs in this tough economy- not yanking much-needed health benefits from seniors, young adults and people with pre-existing conditions. “My number one issue is finding solutions for job growth that work in the Pacific Northwest- landing the Air Force re-fueling tanker contract to create thousands of jobs for folks at Boeing, helping our small and medium sized manufacturers export their goods overseas to create jobs here at home, and getting credit to the women and men who own businesses in Northwest Washington.” ### |
