EVERETT – Today, Rep. Rick Larsen (WA-02) released the following statement in support of Moms Demand Action’s Recess Rally to demand congressional action on pending gun violence legislation:

“Communities and organizations like Moms Demand Action must keep the pressure on elected officials to pass meaningful gun violence legislation that will make communities safer.

“Members of Congress can and must take responsibility for what is within our control – the law. I urge the Senate to pass the bipartisan background check bills that the House passed earlier this year.

“I will continue to be a strong advocate for commonsense legislation that requires background checks for all commercial sales, bans military-style assault weapons and high-capacity magazines and supports gun violence research.”
