Sky Valley Chronicle: Mountlake Terrace is 1st Stop on Larsen "Affordable Care Act Tour" 

Rep. Rick Larsen (WA-02) will hold a “Town Talk” on Saturday Jan. 14th at the Mountlake Terrace Senior Center to hear directly from constituents about their questions and concerns on the future of the Affordable Care Act.

Following the talk Larsen will host a roundtable discussion with local health care providers, insurance providers, patient advocacy organizations and members of the faith community at Western Washington Premera Blue Cross.

Saturday’s events are the first of Larsen’s seven-stop Affordable Care Act Tour of Washington’s 2nd Congressional District – a series of events in towns and cities across Northwest Washington aimed a highlighting how Larsen says Congressional Republicans’ efforts to repeal the Affordable Care Act, but with no plan to replace it, may affect Washingtonians.
 
Last week Larsen launched a new online platform for Washingtonians to share their stories about how they or someone they know has benefited from the Affordable Care Act. 

More than 120 people have already shared their stories. The congressman will use those stories to fight back against Republican efforts that he says would take away health care from the 537,000 Washingtonians who gained coverage thanks to the Affordable Care Act as well as Washingtonians with a preexisting condition and millions more whose critical benefits and health costs are at risk, according to Larsen and other Democrats.
 
Back in 2009, after hearing from more than 15,000 constituents Larsen voted in support of the Affordable Care Act (e.g. Obamacare) citing its improvements to Medicare benefits for seniors, bans on discrimination based on preexisting conditions and the potential to expand health care coverage for those who need it most.
