Today, U.S. Representative Rick Larsen (WA-02), a member of the House Armed Services Committee, expressed disappointment in the U.S. Senate’s failure to advance legislation that would repeal ‘Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell.’
“All qualified men and women who are willing to put their lives on the line to protect our country should be allowed to join our military.
“Stalling on this important legislation is only hurting our nation’s military readiness. Many of our mission-critical troops, including linguists that are essential to our efforts in Afghanistan, continue to be discharged due to this outdated policy.
“We can not afford inaction. It is past time to move forward and end this discriminatory policy.”
