Rep. Rick Larsen, WA-02, today praised the Navy’s decision to extend the public comment period for scoping of the EA-18G Environmental Impact Statement to January 31.

“This is good news for residents of Whidbey Island and neighboring counties,” Larsen said. “The Navy’s decision to extend the public comment period is a direct response to requests from community members and shows the Navy is participating in this process in good faith. While this extension may not be as long as some had hoped, it gives community members nearly three more weeks to submit comments. I encourage residents to take advantage of this opportunity to share their suggestions and concerns.”
