Rep. Rick Larsen (WA-02), a senior member of the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, issued the following statement in response to a crude oil spill in Fidalgo Bay:

“I am very concerned about reports of a crude oil spill at Shell Puget Sound Refinery in Fidalgo Bay on Friday night. My staff will continue to monitor the situation and I have asked the U.S. Coast Guard, the Washington Department of Ecology and Shell for updates. In the meantime, this spill serves as a crucial reminder of how important the Puget Sound and Salish Sea environment is to the Pacific Northwest.”
