Washington state continues to be a leader in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) with more than 290,000 students enrolled in Career and Technical Education.
I have had the opportunity to see the technological creativity of students in classrooms across Northwest Washington first-hand.
I am calling on all middle and high school students to tap into that creativity and participate in the 2024 Congressional App Challenge.
The competition, which runs through Thursday, October 24, 2024, is open to high school and middle school students who live in or attend school in Washington’s Second Congressional District. Students may compete as individuals or in teams of up to four.
The Congressional App Challenge is an opportunity for students to create programs or apps for any platform to collaborate, invent and learn coding and computer science skills.
Students are encouraged to register online before submitting their app. The deadline to submit an app to my office is Thursday, October 24, 2023, at 9:00 a.m. PST.
