What is Medicare and am I eligible?
Medicare is a health insurance program for:
- People age 65 or older.
- Some people with disabilities under age 65.
- People with end-stage renal disease (permanent kidney failure requiring dialysis or a kidney transplant) and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS or Lou Gehrig's disease).
There are four parts to Medicare:
- Part A - Hospital Insurance
- Part B - Medical Insurance
- Part C - Medicare Advantage Plans
- Part D - Prescription Drug Insurance

What is Medicaid and am I eligible?
Medicaid is a program for those who can't afford to pay for medical care.
You may be covered by Medicaid if:
- You have high medical bills.
- You receive Supplemental Security Income (SSI).
- You meet certain financial requirements.
