Larsen Statement on Military Projects at Risk for Delayed Funding Due to National Emergency Declaration

Congress not only passed legislation with $1.375 billion for a wall the president wanted, which the president signed, but the House and Senate also passed legislation to undo the president’s national emergency declaration. When the president declared a national emergency, he failed to acknowledge the funds for a wall would come at a high cost to the military. I am disappointed to see funding at risk for projects in the Second District, Washington state and across the U.S. that support the wellbeing and readiness of our women and men in uniform.
