Larsen Announces Office Changes to Mitigate COVID-19 Spread

Everett, WA, March 15, 2020

EVERETT, WA – Today, Rep. Rick Larsen (WA-02) announced temporary changes to office operations in both his Washington state and Washington, D.C. offices after receiving recommendations from the House Sergeant-at-Arms to help mitigate the spread of COVID-19. 

The changes include:  

  1. Local offices in Everett and Bellingham will be physically closed the week of March 16, and staff will be teleworking and monitoring email and voicemail. All staff meetings will be held virtually. To contact district offices, call 425.252.3188. Wait times may be longer than typical.

  1. At the direction of the House Sergeant-at-Arms, the U.S. Capitol building is closed to tours beginning Friday, March 13.  

Larsen will continue to hold small meetings with constituents, stakeholders and local officials in the Second District while physical offices remain closed.

“The health and well-being of the community is my top priority. To help mitigate the spread of COVID-19, my office is introducing temporary measures to limit social contact and potential exposure to the virus,” said Larsen. “My office will continue to serve constituents in a virtual capacity and my office phone numbers and contact page on my official website will remain operational. I encourage all Washingtonians to take this public health outbreak seriously and continue to follow the guidelines of the Centers for Disease Control and local public health officials.”
