WASHINGTON, D.C. – Rep. Rick Larsen (WA-02) announced the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) will soon begin accepting a second round of applications from eligible small businesses for the Aviation Manufacturing Jobs Protection Program (AMJP), a temporary relief initiative to help cover costs of pay and benefits for aerospace supply chain employees at risk of being furloughed or who were furloughed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The four-week AMJP application period reopens on Wednesday, August 4, at 5:00 a.m. PDT/8:00 a.m. EDT, and ends on Wednesday, September 1, at 2:00 p.m. PDT/5:00 p.m. EDT. DOT encourages applicants to fully review all information contained in the Federal Register notice published on Monday, June 14, and the application form (and supporting instructions) before assembling and submitting applications. If you submitted an AMJP application before the original July 13 deadline and received confirmation, you DO NOT need to resubmit. DOT will continue to evaluate and act upon these applications. In March, President Biden signed into law the American Rescue Plan, a comprehensive relief package that included bipartisan language Larsen, Chair of the House Aviation Subcommittee, and Rep. Ron Estes (KS-04) introduced establishing the Aviation Manufacturing Jobs Protection Program. The AMJP includes critical oversight provisions to restore American jobs, boost labor protections and prevent use of relief funding for stock buybacks or to pay dividends. Key Dates
