Larsen Statement on Resignation of FAA Administrator Steve Dickson

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Rep. Rick Larsen (WA-02), Chair of the Aviation Subcommittee, released the following statement after Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Administrator Steve Dickson announced his resignation effective March 31, 2022:

“I want to thank Administrator Dickson for his steadfast commitment to aviation safety, not just during the last three years at FAA, but during his four-decade career in aviation. He has led the agency through a difficult three years, and I have appreciated working with him to implement bipartisan aircraft certification reform and address serious concerns about 5G deployment near the nation’s airports.”

“As it considers Administrator Dickson’s successor, the administration must nominate someone prepared to work with Congress to continue implementation of aircraft certification reform, improve the safety culture at FAA and in the aviation industry, and develop next year’s FAA reauthorization bill to ensure U.S. aviation remains the global gold standard.”
