WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Reps. Rick Larsen (WA-02) and Suzan DelBene (WA-01) released the following statement regarding improving services for veterans in Northwest Washington:

“We are committed to ensuring that women and men who have served our country have access to the resources they need in our communities.

“A U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs commission recently recommended building a new hospital in Snohomish County. Ending the commission’s work now could derail this opportunity to expand much-needed services to veterans in our region. That is why today we voted no on an amendment that would effectively end the commission and the hospital project.

“We will continue working with local veterans, organizations that support veterans, and our colleagues to improve Veterans Affairs services.”
